Qing Hua Dumpling serves up approachable, straightforward Chinese comfort food right on bustling Boulevard St-Laurent, within Montreal’s Chinatown hub. This place specializes in dumplings, offering a variety of fillings from shrimp and pork blends to curry beef, with portions designed to satisfy both solo diners and small groups looking for a casual meal or takeout option.

The vibe here is inviting without fuss—bright, compact, and efficient. It attracts a steady flow of locals and dumpling enthusiasts who appreciate quick service even during busy times. The staff balances attentiveness with the pace expected of a spot often frequented for convenient dining or delivery, which makes it a handy pit stop for lunch, dinner, or a mid-afternoon snack.

Where Qing Hua Dumpling stands out is in its value and variety. A 15-piece assortment of dumplings for around fifteen dollars offers an accessible way to try different flavors, from classic pork and leek to more adventurous combos like shrimp and coriander. Extras like hot and sour soup and shrimp wonton soup add comforting warmth, ideal for Montreal’s chillier days. The dumplings arrive piping hot, which is part of the experience, though the texture can quickly firm up, suggesting it’s a place best enjoyed fresh on site or soon after pickup.

Regulars seem to appreciate the balance of taste and affordability, particularly those who favor Asian fusion flavors presented in a no-frills setting. The menu’s seafood and pork options give enough diversity to suit various tastes, including vegetarian choices, although those seeking intense seasoning may find some items more subtle.

Given the location’s proximity to Chinatown’s lively streets, it fits naturally into the neighborhood’s rhythm—perfect for anyone craving familiar Asian flavors without the wait or formality of a full-service restaurant. Whether dining in or ordering delivery, Qing Hua Dumpling offers a dependable option for quick, satisfying dumplings in a modest but friendly environment.

BRING THE PUMPKIN ONES BACK! (Yes I would love to know what happened) The others are good too (vegetarian) . The service was good and it’s always a very inviting environment. Go to spot for dumplings in mtl. Even when there’s a lot of people service is usually fast. Fair price - portion - taste

This place has never let us down. It’s hands down one of the best dumpling spots we've ever found, and we keep coming back for more. Even during peak hours, when there’s often a wait, the staff is incredibly thoughtful. They make sure you’re seated as quickly as possible based on the size of your group, though larger parties might need a bit more patience. We’ve tasted their shrimp soup and hot and sour soup, and both were delicious. They also serve some truly authentic spring rolls. As for the dumplings, we've tried both steamed and pan-fried, but the steamed ones have won our hearts. Our all-time favorites are the chicken coriander and curry chicken dumplings. If you can’t decide between steamed and fried, you can even get a half-and-half order for just 50 cents extra. If you find yourself downtown or near Chinatown, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is the place I have come for dumping for a few times. The service is slow but ok, and the waiters are friendly and smiling. When you receive the dumplings it's super hot which is expected but after two minutes the skin gets rubbery and chewy which makes you think it is a reheated frozen dumpling but still the filling is juicy and yummy. Not to mention the price is still reasonable.

Stopped in on a Sunday evening. Ordered the shrimp and cabbage and chicken curry dumplings, pan fried. Also has the shrimp wonton soup. Everything was so delicious and it was only $15cad for 15 dumplings. They dumplings were flavorful and hearty. I would definitely return.

Pretty solid dumpling places. I thought the peanut butter noodles were great. The dumplings could have a used a bit more flavour but overall great food.

A really good restaurant in Chinatown to go to when craving dumplings The staff is super welcoming and gracious and has the best service ever as they are always on their feet and answering questions. We started with Peanut wonton (shrimp) which were so delicious and then moved onto steamed dumplings where I had the Lamb & Green Onion dumplings while my husband had Beef & Coriander dumplings and each bite was wow So well made and juicy and our full compliments to the chef Cannot wait to come back to this incredible 11/10 restaurant and try other dumplings on the menu

Stopped here while on vacation and was recommended by a family member. The steamed dumplings are delightful, and because they are steamed, soup filled. The pan fried were good as well, but my family enjoyed the steamed more.
